In a major push to modernize government technology, Amazon Web Services (AWS) has unveiled two new federal credit programs totaling up to $100 million. These initiatives are designed to accelerate the deployment of cloud infrastructure and generative artificial intelligence (AI) across critical national security and scientific domains in the United States.

Accelerating National Security and Scientific Discovery

The investment is divided into two primary tracks, each receiving $50 million in credits over a three-year period (2026–2028):

By removing initial financial hurdles, AWS aims to compress technological innovation timelines—turning projects that typically take years into reality within months. This move follows President Trump's recent executive orders focused on modernizing defense acquisitions and doubling the productivity of American research through AI acceleration.
