AI Neocloud Leader Nscale Seeks $3.5 Billion Pre-IPO Financing Backed by Nvidia

Dedicated AI cloud infrastructure provider Nscale is locking in multi-billion-dollar pre-IPO funding to power high-density GPU data centers.

The artificial intelligence infrastructure race has reached another milestone. London-based AI cloud computing provider Nscale is currently negotiating with institutional investors to raise up to $3.5 billion in pre-IPO financing, ahead of a planned public market debut that could raise an additional $3 billion, according to reports from Bloomberg News and The Business Times.

Structure of the Multi-Billion-Dollar Deal

The transaction structure involves two core tranches designed to scale Nscale's balance sheet before its initial public offering:

A $103 Billion Contract Pipeline Fueled by Anthropic

What makes Nscale's pre-IPO push remarkable is the sheer scale of forward commitments backing it. Briefings to potential investors indicate that Nscale holds a confirmed contract pipeline valued at approximately $103 billion.

The centerpiece of this backlog is a landmark $45 billion, six-year compute arrangement with Anthropic signed late last month. Under that contract, Nscale will lease roughly 460 megawatts of dedicated capacity from its flagship Monarch campus in West Virginia. The infrastructure will feature Nvidia's next-generation Vera Rubin architecture, giving frontier model builders guaranteed high-density compute as hyperscalers battle power grid constraints and soaring demand.

The Shift Toward Specialized Neoclouds

Traditional hyperscalers like AWS, Microsoft Azure, and Google Cloud are facing persistent hardware and grid-capacity constraints. In response, AI laboratories are increasingly turning to dedicated neocloud infrastructure providers capable of offering custom liquid-cooled architectures, purpose-built gigawatt campuses, and direct hardware allocations. Nscale's planned capital injection highlights how critical physical capacity—power, water, and specialized facilities—has become to the generative AI ecosystem.
